Diamond Impact 31 ended up playing up in 29/30 class division this weekend, having a tough Saturday adjusting to BBCOR but on Sunday the boys came out determined to show they made adjustments and that they did 💪🏽 !!
Boys ended up in the championship by defeating 2 teams 6-0 & 8-0 with the final game losing 4-2,
The process isn’t an easy one but it is one that will prove results 🔥

“I want my kid around better players.”

“Iron sharpens iron.”

And there is truth in that.

But only if the player is actually iron.

Because aluminum does not sharpen iron. Sometimes, iron just bends it, dents it, or breaks it down completely.

That is the part a lot of parents miss.

Putting a child around better athletes can be a great thing when that child is actually ready for it. But if they are not ready, the experience can do more harm than good. It can expose them before they have the tools to compete. It can embarrass them before they have the confidence to respond. It can make parents feel like they made a “big move,” while the player is standing out there just trying to survive.

Better competition is not magic.

A kid does not become better by osmosis. They do not suddenly field ground balls better because the other team has nicer uniforms. They do not develop better footwork because the tournament has “elite” in the name. They do not learn how to compete just because they are standing next to kids who already know how.
