Follow Adam step by step, watching and learning his approach to painting. These techniques can be applied to other subjects as well.

Monday Nights

Watercolor Painting Workshop for Adults

Learn all the basics of handling watercolors with the goal of completing a final project on Week 5. This is an introductory class for our art school.

Fridays

September 18 - October 16

Drawing and Painting Workshop for Adults

Learn all the basics of drawing and acrylic painting with the goal of completing a final project on Week 5. This is an introductory class for our art school.

1 pm - 3 pm
Ongoing Drawing and Painting Classes for Adults, Beginner Level
Session Topic: Nature & Form

In this class, we will dive into a study of nature including plants, animals, and landscapes - the organic forms that are found throughout our world and different ways to approach painting them.

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Young Creators Academy (for grades 2-8)
Session Topic: Nature Study

This is a fun version of our adult class with one new project each week using different mediums.

Can you help me spread the word?

I've had several conversations the past few years with people who felt these were really great classes and were shocked that I'm not always sold out each class. People have told me that the prices feel like a great value and that they have seen the growth in their own art journey or their kid's journey.

So I feel like I am still not doing a good enough job with promotion. I'm trying. I'm increasing my ad spend on platforms like Facebook. It just takes time to get the word out and there's only so much that can be done on a small marketing budget.

So, if you think about it and you are around people you think may enjoy these classes, will you let them know where to find me?

Second, if you have feedback for me about days and times or types of classes offered, please let me know. I'll see what I can do to accommodate those kinds of requests.

Other than that, I feel like things are going really well, and I'm looking forward to the second half of the year!

BCA is on YouTube!

For many years now, people have asked if I had a YouTube channel. The answer was, "Sort of". I love watching YouTube and I knew that it can be helpful for businesses to be on YouTube, but I honestly had no idea what I want the channel to be about.

Having taught consistently for the past few years, I've realized that I find myself in LOTS of individual conversations. These conversations would be helpful to many students, and I realized that this is what my channel could be about. I wanted to start providing supplemental resources to my adult students and parents of the kids in our Young Creators Academy.

Here are a few of the videos I've posted so far. I have a ton of ideas including painting demonstrations planned for the rest of the year, so more to come!

MORE Classes on MORE Days and Times!

Last week, I was able to add a lot more classes to my website for both kids and adults. I have some one-day classes as well as our 5-week sessions! I've added Saturdays to the mix and will do some Monday evening and Wednesdays coming soon on top of the Friday classes I've been offering.

For the adults, I included some classes where I will walk people through live demonstrations - Paint Like Monet, Painting Sailboats, and Painting Waves and Beaches.

For the kids, I created an animation day inspired by the animation building in Disney's California Adventure.

These things are gonna be fun!!

We just had to share!

People have been requesting me to offer art classes in the evening...so starting this coming Monday, I'm doing it! Here's what Summer Session 2 has available:

**Early Access**

Silent Sanctuary

There is a lot of noise in our lives.

Our days are filled with responsibilities, deadlines, conversations, and constant movement. I think that's why places of quiet have become so valuable. Whether it's a church sanctuary, a walk through the forest, or simply a few uninterrupted hours in the studio, we all need somewhere our souls can rest.

Silent Sanctuary was born from that reflection.

The painting depicts a solitary grey whale drifting beneath shafts of light in a secluded underwater cavern. I imagined this hidden place as a refuge—a sanctuary where the whale could simply exist in peace, away from the endless currents of the open ocean.

My hope is that this painting serves the same purpose for those who bring it into their homes: a gentle reminder to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember that rest is not a luxury—it is something we were created to need.

To celebrate the original painting, I have created a limited edition of 20 fine art prints.

Each print measures 11.2" × 14", centered on 13" × 19" Moab Entrada Bright White 190 gsm archival paper. Printed individually in my studio using my Canon imagePROGRAF, each print reproduces the deep blues, luminous light, and fine details of the original with exceptional color and contrast.

Every print will be:
- Hand signed
- Individually numbered
- Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity
- Packaged in a protective clear sleeve with a foam backer board

Once all 20 prints have been collected, that’s all there will ever be of this edition.
