A grief journal can be a powerful tool after a loved one’s death. ✏️🌹 It allows us to quiet and intentionally process what our loved one meant to us, the unfinished business we might have with them, and the parts of their story that leave a lasting legacy.

Which prompt in this graphic by 𝓙𝓮𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓬𝓪 do you think is most important to your healing this week? ❤️‍🩹 Journal about it. 📝

My name is Jessica, owner of Empowered Pathways | End of Life Doula, podcaster Endings IRL Podcast, and your certified End of Life Doula. When I work with clients during doula grief sessions, one of the most common things that comes up is the powerful feelings of sadness, loss, anxiety, and anger that seem to arise almost out of nowhere.

Emotions might also come on fast as a result of:
🪷A memory
🪷A familiar place
🪷A loved one’s voice

In many instances, journaling about these strong feelings (and the thoughts or experiences behind them) can help us decide which part of the grief has been hitting us the hardest. Then, we can talk that out or make a plan of action with our doula or a licensed therapist/counselor.

Virtual grief discussions are available on Zoom, anywhere in the USA. Learn more and schedule at EmpoweredEOL.com.

Questions about these sessions? Send me a DM or Email me: [email protected].

My opinion? Legacy projects are a must for everyone.

From books to cookbooks, gardens to donations, you have an opportunity to share your stories, values, accomplishments, and/or love with those you care about — in a way that resonates forever.

Truly, legacy projects are a way to bring peace, closure, and meaning to the last months of life. You can even begin a legacy project years before you reach the end of this life.

More on legacy projects from Empowered Pathways founder and EOLD Jessica.
