LIVING WITH SELF-CONTROL

Proverbs 25:28 ESV
A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

Without self-control, we allow the devil to break inside us and steal us from God. God has plans for us. Plans to give us hope and a future. It is very challenging to accomplish God plans for us without self-control in our lives.

It is healthy to eat the fruit of the spirit: Self-Control

Be mindful of your appetite. Attractive or enticing foods will trick you to desire it. Therefore, making you overeat even when you are not hungry.

Don’t be tempted to give into your appetite. Observe carefully what is before you and use self control. Mentally, let your knife represent cutting off your appetite. Meaning stop eating and glorify God.

A lying tongue stands in the way of having loving relationships with others. The act of lying to another person represents hate.

I encourage us to build relationships with true love (God’s Love) because life and death is in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. If we say, we love God and hate our brother, we are liars.
