PRAYER FOR TODAY

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18

INSPIRATION
It is so easy to forget, anchored down in our earthly flesh and bones, that a vast Kingdom awaits us outside of the realm of our immediate senses. It is what has made religion so hard for some to quantify not only in the past, but even today. However, centered on redemption, the ultimate message of the Lord does not lie in the realm of the senses, but in its transcendence. For the material world will come and it will pass, tied to a specific place and time. Only the Lord, the spirit and its truth are eternal.

PRAYER
God, my redeemer and salvation, grant me now the wisdom of Your word and open my eyes to the gates of paradise. As all things come to pass, let my spirit find freedom and passage into Your eternal bliss. Let it find rest in Your loving arms beyond the worries in the world of men. To God my eternal and everlasting, Amen.

1. Heavenly Father, make me better-change my attitude, my approach, my mind, and my reactions.
2. Heavenly Father, if I'm chasing the wrong things, redirect me.
3. Dear God, please bring me closer to what's meant for me.
4. Heavenly Father, please make my days useful, my nights restful, my home peaceful, and my efforts fruitful. I love You, God. I promise to pass this prayer on to my family and friends.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
Matthew 12:6

INSPIRATION
The Jews of old were much impressed with the Temple, and no wonder, for it was a marvelous building to behold, bedecked with gold and constructed with precious materials of all sort. But far greater than the Temple is Jesus Christ, to whom that Temple pointed, being a shadow of him and his sacrifice to be made for sin.

PRAYER
I read of the Tabernacle, the Temple, and so many of the institutions of the Old Testament, and they are impressive even in themselves. But they are nothing compared to your Son, O my Father! He is the substance and reality of all of these former things. They were but faint shadows and signposts pointing to the One who was to come. May I see your Son when I read of these things in your Word? Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
Lamentations 3:22

INSPIRATION
Some of us have near-death stories to tell- times when we narrowly and miraculously avoided a terrible fate. And as believers, all of us have a spiritual near-death story. Our sin and selfishness ultimately lead to destruction. It is only by the miraculous and unfailing mercy of God that we avoid our fate.

PRAYER
Lord, too often, and for too long, I have tried to make my own path. And every time I do, I see too late that destruction and ruin await me. Yet, in Your unfailing love, You have shown up to be my rescuer, diverting me from my destructive course. Thank You for saving me and restoring me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Corinthians 15:24

INSPIRATION
The day our bodies are changed for the incorruptible and immortal, it will be a fulfillment of the Scriptures where we are told that Death will be swallowed up. Imagine that, a life with no death. We will be surrounded with our loved ones, in the Lord, and we will never have to worry about losing them again. We will spend eternity together, forever!

PRAYER
Dear God, I thank you that in the times things may not make sense, you know more than I do. In times of pain, where I lose the people closest to me, I take comfort in knowing that as long as they are of you, we will meet again. A time will come where we will all be reunited without worrying about death and sorrow. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
