"BCPS to Serve Free Summer Meals for Kids 18 years and Under Through Summer BreakSpot Program.
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is helping ensure children and teens have access to nutritious meals this summer through Florida’s Summer BreakSpot program.
Beginning Monday, June 8, 2026, free breakfasts, lunches, snacks and suppers will be available at 96 BCPS school sites for all children and teens 18 years of age and younger while school is out of session.
Meals are provided at no cost to families, helping bridge the nutrition gap when school cafeterias are closed for summer break. No registration, application or proof of income is required.
Meal service dates, times and offerings vary by location. Meals must be consumed on-site, and service is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Broward County Public Schools is committed to supporting the health and well-being of our students and families year-round,” said Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “Through Summer BreakSpot, we are proud to offer nutritious meals that help children stay fueled, active and ready to learn throughout the summer.”
Families can find participating locations and meal service schedules by:
Visiting https://www.summerbreakspot.org or
Find BCPS Sites at browardschools.com/summerfeeding
Calling 2-1-1
Texting “Food” or “Comida” to 304-304"
We encourage families to take advantage of this important resource to support student health and well-being throughout the summer.

Dear Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) families and staff,
As we approach the final days of the school year, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. To support a safe and orderly campus environment, additional safety measures will be implemented at all schools.
From Friday, May 29 through Wednesday, June 3, 2026, backpacks and bags will not be permitted on school campuses.
Please take note of the following important reminders:
Students may bring lunches in a standard lunch box.
All devices, books, and school materials should be returned before Friday, May 29, 2026.
The final day to return school-issued laptops is Thursday, May 28, 2026.
A small pouch may be permitted for personal hygiene items.
We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations with your child. If your student has a special circumstance, please contact your school’s administration for assistance.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure a safe and successful end to the school year.
