Hmmm. Interesting read for those responsible for safety at a school or district. Does your site safety plan identify post-recovery planning to minimize the disruption of education post-incident? If so, you're in better shape than the majority.

Tornadoes, fires, hurricanes, active shooters, and other natural and human caused risks impact schools across the nation every year.  Planning and preparedness is the key to an efficient response and rapid recovery.

I'm deeply saddened by the recent tragic event in San Bernardino costing 14 victims their lives and disrupting an entire nation. We all need to be more vigilant as we continue with our daily lives. The FEMA Independent Study course linked below can help us prepare for the unlikely yet possible event of an active shooter scenario much like what took place in San Bernardino. My deepest sympathy goes out the victims and their families.
