If self ❤️ is a challenge for you, this book will help. A treasure discovered at Toby’s Feed Barn during a yoga teacher training at Point Reyes Yoga this weekend. ❤️ ❤️

Delightful to get be a participant coupled with the joy of discovering a new trail to a favorite beach.

I always suggest you do yoga trainings a local studio you love and/or with a teacher you love ❤️.

My local studio is in Point Reyes- Nicasio is too small.
It is super special - as are the teachers as is this Yin training.

Most of you won’t know that just like in medicine, yoga teachers also need continuing education. Just like in medicine, you can check the boxes to get it done or you can choose something truly transformative.

Out of the box, creative
experiences that nourish and change you at the cellular level are what I believe in as an educator- so far this training is exactly that.

Two of my favorite quotes:

- forward folds in yin have “a Va**um effect.” Yes they do.

- “ten years ago, my doctor said I could take meds or do yoga. I chose yoga.” shared by a fellow teacher taking the course.

Another perspective shifting concept- how you get out of a pose is as important as how you get in.
True for for everything in life.

Looking forward to three more days of experiential learning - my favorite way to learn (and teach.)

The buddha wall is part of one of
the teachers 10,000 Buddhas project- she has actually painted over 26,000 of them…

Other fun fact- the yoga studio is part of an old feed barn … this is why the original floors are so cool.

Regret is optional. Don’t miss out! This retreat will likely not happen again until 2028… if then.. bring a spouse/partner and make a date weekend out of it. Explore Muir beach and Muir Woods, experience the Zen center, practice mindfulness, and meet incredible colleagues and friends.

Positive feedback always feels amazing!

05/16/2026

It feels like magic. Its actually intention.
Even after 35+ women physician retreats I am always surprised by how amazing it always is. I probably shouldn’t be.
And yet I am.
Every time.

Mark and I end each retreat completely exhausted but inspired and deeply touched– by the experience, the lives we touch, the feedback, and the ripples of impact.
It’s honestly hard to hold the beauty, the transformations, the connections, and the healing that happens.

It’s magical. And yet I know it isn’t magic 🪄 at all.
I know it is all deeply intentional. The setup, design, location, and experience.
In fact I know of no other space purpose-built for physicians’ healing, growth, and transformation.

Add to that the love and energy Mark and I pour into curating and caring for every space on the farm with intention.

Add in Mark’s magic culinary healing and his ability to infuse love into nourishment.

Add in the coaching - small group, 1:1, and a process I have spent six years fine-tuning.

Add in the forestbathing, the sound healing, the yoga, the creek, the redwoods, the mountains, the wildflowers…

Add in incredible women physicians.

In reality, the results are expectedly wonderful and delightful.

If you are a woman physician don’t miss out - this one is worth FOMO. There are a few spaces in the fall 2026 and spring 2027 will open for sign ups soon. There are an abundace of date options but less than seven spots in each- some dates have only one spot left.

And yes — that is Bambi AKA a baby deer napping in the poppies at Nicasio Creek Farm — this was also a big surprise.

Yesterday, on Mother’s Day, I took care of myself.
I taught yoga in the redwoods — the third annual Mother’s Day Yoga in the Redwoods. I keep teaching it because I get to visit with friends and colleagues and enjoy breathing, stretching, and moving under the canopy of the most beautiful trees.
I love offering other women a few hours to please themselves and enjoy something they love on Mother’s Day.
I see all over social media moms who are disappointed with Mother’s Day. For years, I was one of them. Six years ago, I chose to stop being disappointed.
Specifically, I chose to not disappoint myself.
I encourage you to do the same. You can choose to please and honor yourself as a mom instead. Design a day around what actually fills you up. Yoga in the redwoods with incredible women physicians always does that for me.

I rarely share my podcast episodes here, but a pediatrician mom at yoga in the redwoods yesterday told me this week’s episode was great. So feeling inspired. Approaching all the stages of mothering — and doing it intentionally — is not something we talk about much. Hoping it is helpful to some of you.

It is called “Mothering on Purpose: Mindful Mothering Across Every Stage.” Link in the comments.

If you want to join me for yoga in the redwoods next time - I teach it about twice a year - join my email list. I don’t always remember to share it here.

Lita-life. We begin again with the next generation. This time at the most beautiful little league field right down the street.

Sutter team wellness retreat #6
In Nicasio. Sutters commitment to funding these retreats truly shows an unparalleled commitment to physician wellbeing.
The experience, curriculum, and the environment with deep intention - and I continue to be blown away by the both day of feedback and the long term impact. Almost 100 Physicians have joined so far.
💯 found it helpful, 💯 would recommend to colleagues, and 💯 want leadership to keep funding it.

Grateful to Mark for partnering with me on this- I recorded a snippet of his hand pan playing during sound healing ❤️‍🩹… an instrument he learned to play for Pause & Presence to help lower cortisol — one note at a time.
