These mild temperatures are a much welcomed change, after the long (& cold!) 2025 - 2026 Winter season that we had received.

For the last couple of months or so, I've been performing numerous 2026 Spring Property Clean-Up's. More recently, I've also begun rotating in the first 2026 Grass Cutting Services from my Automatic Service List, as needed. I'm still behind with estimates, but certainly haven't forgotten about y'all!

I'll try to find some time to update here more regularly. There just isn't enough time in each day, it seems.

Well folks, we've 'dodged a bullet' on this one.

Apparently even the 'Professionals' fell way short with their forecasts, for the most part. Not sure how the NWS can be so wrong; but, indeed they were. Some folks' forecasts were complete failures, while others were somewhat close (but still fell short overall). They say: "Timing is Everything.".

I've officially measured only 1.2 - 2.3 inches of new accumulated snowfall. Turns out this will NOT be enough snow to trigger my Automatic Service List unfortunately. Once things 'got going' yesterday, it was blatantly obvious that we were not going to receive anywhere near what was predicted. Yesterday evening the snowfall picked up a bit, but then it fizzled out shortly thereafter.

Still watching multiple Potentially Plowable Snow Event 'Storm Signals', for the medium range forecasts. We'll see what happens. Either way, I'll be sure to update here, when I know more.

Update...

We're now officially under a "Blizzard Warning", from the NWS. Many have called this from the start (YouTube, Twitter, & Facebook Weather folks), whereas some are just now catching up. The 'Professionals' at "AccuWeather & TWC", and our 'Local Experts' at "WNEP" are still only calling for 5.0 - 10.0 inches of snow. Massive discrepancies with these forecasts overall. In any event, if we do receive the upper end of the forecasts, this will shut things down for most of the week.

Still, look at the range of forecasted snowfall totals: 7.0 - 24.0 inches of snow, with low end amounts around 5.0 inches and high end amounts 30.0+ inches. Sooo, 5.0 - 35.0 inches?!?.. Wow!

I've been watching this storm signal for probably a week now - constant back and forth with the snow totals, and if we'd even receive anything more than a Nuisance Storm. With the recent warm up and mild temps we've just went through, I wanted to wait until we were closer to make a post about this upcoming Snow Event.

Originally I had seen anywhere from 1 - 3 inches of snow, up to TWO feet! Now, however, it looks like they are locking into at the very least it definitely being a Plowable Snow Event for our area, one way or another. Still lots of uncertainty either way, with the totals. Check out the ranges even the NWS is forecasting (see photos).

The *massive* difference from this upcoming Snow Event and the most recent large Plowable Snow Event back on January 25th 2026, will be the temperatures, consistency of the snow, and ultimately the weight of the snow. The warm temps preceding the snow will cause the gravel driveways and the exposed ground to thaw a bit, and become soft - which is not ideal (for obvious reasons). January's big storm's snow was light and fluffy, even though we had received 15.0 - 20.0+ inches of snow. This upcoming Snow Event will be the complete opposite - extremely dense and heavy. Assuming we receive the same total accumulation of snow, it will weigh approximately 4 - 5 times as much, for the same amount of area/volume. Yikes

I'll be watching this unfold very closely. Please be patient, and know that if you're on my Automatic Service List that your property will be done as quickly as possible after the snow ends. Looks like I'll be Plowing & Shoveling from sometime Monday, and onwards.

Didn't get a chance to update here afterwards, so I'll do that now...

We had received between 15.0 - 20.0 inches of snow Sunday January 25th 2026, as well as 2 - 4 foot snow drifts from the wind. Everything took much longer to complete, and the unusually cold temperatures didn't help at all. Thankfully, I had help to shovel paths - which turned out to be a tremendously positive impact - thanks guys!!

The entire Automatic Service List was indeed completed, it just ended up taking days. Thank you to the multiple new customers who have chosen to utilize my services, we greatly appreciate each & evey one of our customers.

Everything is still on track for The Big One!

We're watching everything *extremely* closely. As of now, NWS says 1 - 2 feet; National, Local, Facebook, & Youtube forecasts say 1+ foot; AccuWeather & TWC in agreement with 12" - 18" (localized 24"+).

Don't mind the spelling errors A.I. had made in the last couple of photos - the information is valid & important, nonetheless.

Lots of uncertainty yet, with this upcoming weekend's 'Major' Winter Snow Event.

One thing's for sure, if the weather models stay consistent, and if we do end up receiving the upper end of the forecasted snowfall amounts, we'll be measuring this Snow Event in Feet - not Inches. Also, this will be a *Multiple Day Snow Event* - starting sometime Saturday night, and going all the way until Monday morning, supposedly.

If this remains the storm's path and duration, this is exceedingly important, as we will not be starting our Automatic Service List until after the Snow Event wraps up - as always. This is the Standard Operating Procedure, for my Automatic Service List. This means if you (or your guests) are up or are planning on coming up this weekend, at this point it does not look like we'll be plowing snow on Sunday - typically the day weekend folks tend to leave. Instead, we may not be starting the route until Monday sometime.

Additionally, these extremely large snow events always take MUCH longer to complete the entire List(s). There needs to be a First, and a Last, to every list - though we aim to have everyone completed in a timely manner, as quickly as possible. Please plan ahead as much as possible, with all of this in mind.

The way weather folks are talking, this may be our largest storm of the 2025 - 2026 Season - and perhaps even the largest in many years.

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday, as things were hectic alllll day/night & into this morning.

We received approximately 2.5 - 4.5 inches of Snowfall total - give or take, depending on your specific location - from yesterday's 'Over-Performing' Nuisance Snow Event. An additional inch or so fell today also. Watching the mid - long range forecast for multiple upcoming Potentially Plowable Snow Events, as well as brutally cold temperatures and wind chills.

Either way, I'll be watching everything very closely for the near future.

2026 - Wow!!!

Another Nuisance Snow Event, from a very quick moving, albeit a heavy producing set of snow squalls, early this morning.

I did see some crazy snow totals 'posted online', but most were unfortunately 'guesstimated'. I always measure, in multiple spots which are meant to measure snow (and other areas), less than two (2.0) inches total Snowfall. This matches pretty much exactly what is officially posted for snow totals around the state and our area.

This of course does Not trigger my Automatic Service List, for Snow Plowing & Path Shoveling Services.

Yet another Nuisance Storm.

Not even an inch of Snow, actually. I measured only 1/4 of an inch, of total new Snowfall.

They were all waaay off, with their Snowfall Forecasts. Predicted Snow Forecasts I had seen: 3.0"-6.0"; 6.0"-10.0"; 8.0"-12.0"; (and even upwards of 17" of Snow Forecasted!). They were off by nearly Two 'Orders of Magnitude'!! Wowww!!!

Still watching more potential Snow Events, for the near future - we'll see. Ice only, for the next one, supposedly.
