Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day honors the bravery of Ruby who was only 6 years old when she integrated her school in 1960. Walk to school on Friday and celebrate courage, resilience, community strength, and the power of youth to bring change.

Fall's shorter days and wet weather make it vital that children are visible when walking or rolling. Lights and reflective clothing are recommended.

Drivers: With many neighborhood events and celebrations this week, avoid in-car distractions and drive slowly through neighborhoods.

Parents: Help make your child's costume safe & visible and share our trick-or-treating safety tips (below) with them.

Bike Rodeo and Festival: Bring family and friends to a FREE fun-filled day of activities, games, music, and hands-on learning focused on bike and pedestrian safety – including a bike and scooter obstacle course (helmet and waiver required).
