Bright Futures Pleasant Hill Bright Futures is a community-based initiative dedicated to breaking down barriers for children so every student in our community can succeed.

Bright Futures Pleasant Hill works within the Pleasant Hill school district to connect student needs with existing resources. The Bright Futures model brings together businesses, human service agencies, faith-based organizations and parent groups, and partners them with schools in a way that helps them to quickly and efficiently meet students' basic needs - often within 24 hours. This enables students and teachers to focus on education and achieving success. Bright Futures Pleasant Hill works to create an environment where education is valued and responsibility for student success is shared. Bright Futures operates under the belief that when a community invests its time, talent and treasure into its schools. students are more likely to stay in school through graduation, have a higher degree of self-worth and confidence, and set and reach goals for the futures. In turn, these students grow up to be better neighbors, quality employees and impactful leaders in their communities.

💛 Bright Futures: Supporting Girls & Building Connections 💛

We’re excited to share about a wonderful opportunity Bright Futures has to support a small group of eight girls who meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings with a club sponsor.

During their time together, the girls learn about personal hygiene, participate in fun crafts and activities, and most importantly, have a chance to build friendships and meaningful relationships with a caring adult. We believe this group is a valuable opportunity to provide encouragement, resources, and positive experiences for girls who may not always have access to these things outside of school.

Bright Futures would love to help provide supplies for their small projects throughout the year, things like friendship bracelet string, craft supplies, and other fun activities.

If you’d like to help us get these supplies into the girls’ hands, we’ve put together an Amazon shopping list with items they can use now and throughout the year:

Community Request - We Have A Need!

We’re looking for someone in our community who may have a sewing machine they would be willing to lend or donate for a student to use.

This student has a passion for fashion design and is currently preparing to participate in a fashion design contest at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. Having access to a sewing machine would give them the opportunity to continue developing their design skills and pursue this exciting experience.

Halloween is creeping up, and we’re collecting gently used Halloween costumes to help make sure every little ghost, goblin, witch, and superhero gets to join in on the fun!

Have costumes your kiddos have outgrown? Sitting in the closet collecting dust? We’d LOVE to give them a new home!

We’re collecting gently used Halloween costumes of all sizes!

Whether it’s a princess dress, superhero suit, spooky costume, or anything in between, your donation could bring a BIG smile to another child’s face! 🎃

Bright Futures Snack Drive

Bright Futures is launching a Fruit Snack Drive to help support our students during upcoming MAP testing!

A small snack during testing can help fuel success by giving students the extra boost of energy and focus they need to do their very best.

We are collecting individually packaged fruit snacks to share with students during testing week.

Donations can be dropped off at the Elementary and Intermediate school offices. Please drop off all donations by March 27th.
