There are few books I’d recommend more than this compilation of MLKs work. Do yourself, your community, your patients and the world a favor, and devour this book.

I know you think you know what King stood for. I know you think the image that exists in your head must be real because it is ubiquitous. But I assure you, King was more than two lines from one speech. He was a fantastic orator, but you should know him for his mind, for his thoughts, for his theories… and how all of that evolved over time. Go beyond “I Have A Dream”. Read more than “The Letter from Birmingham Jail.” Find out what King actually meant by the nonviolent movement. Find out why King was unsure about the plan to integrate. No more relying on out-of-context quotes. Go find out if you actually agree with him… and why.
