The Sunday Scaries can feel a little less scary when children know what to expect.

A few simple things you can do tonight that can give your child more predictability, independence, and connection before a big transition:

Packing their backpack together gives them ownership. Talking through tomorrow helps reduce uncertainty. Creating a goodbye plan gives them something familiar to hold onto. Practicing how to ask for help gives them a tool they can use when they aren’t sure what to do.

And making space for questions, feelings, play, and connection reminds them that they don’t have to have everything figured out before they walk through those school doors.
