Plainfieldsepag SEPAGs are required by state law and are run at the district level. Their mission is to provide a safe space for families to share, learn, and receive guidance.

SEPAG gives parents the opportunity to provide direct input to their school district about policies, programs, practices, and services that have an impact on students who receive special education services to both in district and OOD families. SEPAG stands for Special Education Parent Advisory Group, which is a parent-led group that provides feedback to local school districts on special education

and related services. SEPAGs are made up of parents and guardians of students with disabilities and Individual Education Programs (IEPs). SEPAGs can help create a stronger community by:
*Providing workshops
*Representing different perspectives on raising children with disabilities
*Participating in discussions and activities that address systemic issues

SEPAG meetings may include:
*Updates on local and state-wide special education policies
*Speaker nights with local speakers
*A chance to ask questions and raise concerns about special services

Facilitated IEP Meetings (FIEP)
The session will provide an overview of the Facilitated IEP program offered through the NJDOE/OSE. The goal is to spread the word about this pro-active program in an effort to help reduce disputes at the local level without the need of parents/guardians and LEAs having to file for formal dispute resolution such as mediation, due process or a complaint investigation.
