Sometimes, you have to be a living witness to the lessons you teach.

On Tuesday, July 28th, I had the honor of presenting “Innovation Without Limits: How JAG Reaches Every Student, Everywhere” at Atlantic Cape Community College during the .e.a.d_education_summit.

I constantly tell my students: Network. Build relationships. Put yourself out there. Create opportunities.

Well… I had to practice what I preach!

This opportunity came through LinkedIn and networking, and I’m so grateful I said YES!

I also had the incredibly special experience of having my mother there to watch me present a JAG workshop for the first time.❤️

She’s heard me talk about JAG countless times, but this time she got to see the work in action.

Thank you, Troy Long, for the opportunity and for trusting me to share my JAG experience with other educators.

I’m grateful for the connections, the opportunity to inspire, and the reminder that our expertise should never stay in our classrooms.

Here’s to many more workshops, collaborations, and opportunities to educate, empower, and inspire!

A huge congratulations to JAG Specialist Mr. Michael Esquerre!

We are proud to recognize Mr. Esquerre for earning the prestigious JAG National 6-of-6 Award—his first national award with the Jobs for America’s Graduates program!

Mr. Esquerre accepted his award at the 2026 JAG EDGE conference in Long Beach, CA where he was cheered on by his colleagues and family.

This achievement reflects Mr. Esquerre’s unwavering dedication to his students and his commitment to ensuring successful follow-up with his graduating seniors throughout the year.

His hard work, persistence, and passion for helping students succeed have truly paid off.

JAG leaders kicked off the EDGE Conference by investing in what matters most—leadership that creates lasting impact.

Plainfield High School’s, very own Mr. Esquerre was able to participate along with JAG leaders from around the country completed Leadership That Delivers: Focusing on What Matters Most, led by Candy Singh, where they explored the 4 Essential Roles of Leadership—a practical framework for leading with purpose and achieving meaningful results for the young people and communities we serve.

Throughout the course, our leaders strengthened their ability to:

Build trust with teams, partners, and communities.

Clarify a vision that connects daily work to a greater purpose.

Focus ex*****on on the priorities that drive real impact.

Develop others to expand leadership capacity across our organization.

As today’s leaders navigate increasingly complex systems, this training equipped our team with practical tools they can immediately apply to strengthen programs, partnerships, and outcomes.

We’re proud of our JAG leaders for their commitment to continuous learning and to leading with intention. The investment in leadership today helps ensure brighter futures for the young people we serve tomorrow.
