Last week, our Junior Chefs launched our March theme - Produce Takes Center Stage! We delved into the significance of cooking with a variety of produce, mastering techniques like parboiling and infusion, as well as the classic method 'au gratin'. Our culinary adventures resulted in some scrumptious Spinach and Cauliflower au Gratin and mouthwatering Sweet Potato Cupcakes topped with Cream Cheese Caramel Frosting! Yum! Last week, our Junior Chefs delved deeper into February's Pantry to Plate Theme. We dedicated our time to perfecting the techniques of melting chocolate, mixing, baking, and expertly unmolding cakes to achieve that sought-after liquid center, along with prepping bell peppers and cooking polenta. Our scrumptious recipes included a savory Polenta with Smoked Sausage and Peppers and an indulgent Molten Red Velvet Cake topped with Chocolate Ganache—perfectly timed for Valentine's Day! We can’t wait to share what our chefs will whip up this week! ❤️

Happy February! 🎉 This month, our Junior Chef Theme is Pantry to Plate! Last week, we delved into the world of pantry staples! We explored what a pantry is, how to properly store items, their shelf life, and we whipped up some delicious recipes using these essentials! On the menu were Marry Me Orzo (a new YCA favorite) and Oatmeal Creme Pies, which everyone loved! 🍽️
