BREAKING THE CHAINS is a voting rights initiative specifically focused on the education, registration and mobilization of Formerly Incarcerated and Convicted people, their families and communities. The United States currently incarcerates over 2.3 million people and over 7 million people are on parole or probation. There are millions of Americans who, because of criminal convictions, have lost the

right to vote. BREAKING THE CHAINS seeks to empower one of the most marginalized groups within our society.
