Run for an Executive Board Position with the University of Pittsburgh Postdoctoral Association (UPPDA)!
The annual election for the University of Pittsburgh Postdoctoral Association (UPPDA) Executive Board will take place this month. All positions are open, and each elected person will serve a term of one year. Any postdoc from across the university is welcome to participate in elections, however, we ask that anyone who runs be willing to serve for the full term.
The board positions are President, Advocacy Chair, Career Development Chair, Networking Chair, Communications Chair, International Chair, and Diversity and Inclusion Chair. Descriptions for each position can be found on the UPPDA website.
Holding an executive board position allows you to engage with the postdoctoral community at Pitt. It serves as a great experience to learn more about the higher education environment, and it is a rewarding way to ensure Pitt postdocs are recognized in the University landscape.
To declare your candidacy, please submit a statement to Tammy Dennis at [email protected] by May 12, 2023. The statement should include 1) which position you are running for, 2) a brief description of your background including what experience you have that would make you a good fit for the position, and 3) what you would like to achieve in your year-long term.
Voting will take place the second half of the month and will be conducted entirely online. Keep an eye out for the ballot in your inbox.
If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected].
