Matt's Maker Space rooms are places where kids can use hands-on, experiential learning to explore areas such as Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Kids can use this kind of learning to re-imagine themselves as the successful "makers" of tomorrow. Matt's Maker Spaces are the evolution of Matt's Media Rooms, which are named after Matt Conover, an amazing 12 year old boy who died
from cancer in 2002. His family wanted to find a way to remember Matt, who loved to learn, had a wonderful imagination and enjoyed math, science and legos. Ahead of his time, Matt would have probably been very involved in the new "maker" movement, where learning and creativity are encouraged. Matt's Maker Spaces are funded through the Matthew Conover Memorial Fund, a fund at the Pittsburgh Foundations, a 501-c-3 charitable community foundation.
