Dr. Tyra Good Author | Education Consultant | CEO of GOOD Knowledge Connections | Associate Professor of Education

Dr. Tyra Good is an Associate Professor of Education and the Founding Executive Director of the Center for Equity in Urban Education at Elms College. Prior to this position, she was an Assistant Professor of Education at Chatham University in the Teacher Preparation program and served as the university liaison for the Pittsburgh Urban Teaching Corps, as well as the liaison for Equitable School Dis

trict and Community Partnerships. Dr. Good is the founder of GOOD Knowledge Connections and the Black Educators Network of Greater Pittsburgh, which is a collective voice of K-12, Higher Education, and community educators strategically working across school district and community lines to support each other while ensuring the academic and personal success of African-American youth from marginalized communities. Dr. Good has received a myriad of award recognitions for her dedication and service to developing and strengthening school, family, and community partnerships for culturally and linguistically diverse students and their families. She was named as a National Deeper Learning Equity Fellow (2019-2022), which aims to develop and strengthen exceptional leaders who will influence the policies and practices that expand equitable practices in public education around the country. She considers her career passion to be soul work and knows that God uses her to advocate for the most vulnerable populations to have access to an equitable education. Dr. Good is a social justice educator that is dedicated to mission work in her local community and abroad. She serves on the education mission team with Functional Literacy Ministry to support Haitian teachers in strengthening their pedagogical practices and has taught over 200 Haitian teachers and administrators during her mission trips to Haiti. Dr. Good serves on the board of Educare Springfield, Manchester Academic Charter School, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Howard University, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Chatham University and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Evaluation from Duquesne University.
