English Owl

English Owl Education is my passion, and my fondness for working in the world of education and with the possibilities it holds has grown throughout the years.

Who We Are:
With years of experience in education including, elementary through high school, college level, and adult education, the abilities to multitask, learn and adapting quick, and work in a team have become second nature. My experience also includes the fields of educational research, software development and planning, on-line education, ESL instruction (including business English), composi

tion and creative writing instruction, SAT prep, GRE prep, LSAT prep, study skills, secondary English, and technology integration in the classroom. Being part of the education world is not just a job, and I believe in the work that educators and parents do for our future. I have formed relationships with teachers and administrators in the United States and in South Korea, and my enthusiasm for education has grown since becoming part of such work. There is nothing I want more than to continue working for such a wonderful cause. Our Philosophy:
Knowledge is an understanding of processes, information, and facts along with what makes facts facts. Knowledge is also a set of principles instilled in an individual that assists him/her in decision making. This knowledge provides one with a good life, consisting of the ability to adapt to one’s environment and to function in one’s society at the best of one’s ability, to learn, and to acquire new knowledge. Knowledge is acquired through learning, and the ability to learn is a developed skill that is the major role of education. Education provides the ability to learn along with knowledge so an individual may lead a good life of understanding the environment, learning, and adapting. The development of the skill/ability to learn should be aided but not completely molded by the teacher. The teacher must be able to provide an integrated approach to learning through his/her teaching. Students, as educated individuals, must be able to provide and respond to their own work along with that of others as writers, readers, and critical thinkers. They must also have basic skills in math, science, and history and should work to attain deeper learning. Learning must be student centered and learner centered; students must create their own knowledge with guidance provided by the teacher. In order to do so, students should be engaged in developmental activities throughout the duration of every class period. The students’ responsibility is to be able to create their own knowledge through exercises in writing, reading, and critical thinking. They should be engaged in activities where they will think critically of others’ works along with their own. By practicing their skills in such a setting of positive and negative feedback along with critical thinking of one’s own work all guided by the teacher, students will be able to become capable members of a good society. A good society is a group of respectful individuals who have earned respect and show respect to others. These individuals are also considered good people, most likely lead good lives due to their capabilities, and have earned respect by demonstrating a distinct sense of camaraderie, honesty, confidence, and personal values. These qualities have also been demonstrated by the society as a whole and have served to bond them together into a working society.

I am very excited to announce that one of my stories and some of my material will be included in an academic reader for college-level writing and English students! My story will be alongside classics such as The Cask of Amontillado and Declaration of Sentiments, and the book is due out September of next year.

I randomly decided to submit a short story to an educational materials company, and it was immediately accepted and will be used to teach future writers! Now, to get back to my novel with new confidence!

Congratulations to Nick Wechter, one of our most loyal clients, for being accepted into the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University and for being awarded a merit-based scholarship for 60% of his total tuition (the MSHCPM scholarship)!!!
"U.S. News and World Report has ranked Heinz College #1 in Information and Technology Management since 2001, and in the Top Ten for Public Policy Analysis and Environmental Policy and Management," according to CMU.
Nick will be pursuing a Masters in Healthcare Policy and Management and hopes to study policy and analytics within the healthcare sector and hopefully to explore the interface between biotechnology and healthcare.
