Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons in Pittsburgh and it's time to start thinking of all things pumpkin! We are so lucky to have so many local farms offering family fun throughout the season. Most farms offer fall festivals of some sort, not just pumpkin picking, so be sure to check each farm’s website (just click the title of each farm and it’ll take you right to their site)

Does it seem weird to see a haunted house guide already? Probably. BUT — a lot of the ones we’ve got listed open next weekend, on September 11th — so mark your calendars for a spooktacular time!

To the parents already helping their kids navigate adversity in this first part of the school year...

Can I remind you of something?

You're doing a great job.

Even if you feel like you're not coming up with the right words in the right moment.

Even when you know you're supposed to accept that adversity turns into life lessons... but you still just wish things would be easy.

Even when you feel like you've been doing everything you can and it feels like it's still not enough.

Even when you're crying in the bathroom because you wish you could just fix it.

You're doing.
a great.
job.

And I have a feeling you need to hear that.

Because doing a great job doesn't mean doing it perfectly.

It means caring enough to want to get it right.

It means being present to walk beside them in whatever they're facing.

It means letting your kids know they're not alone and that they're loved.

We all know it's not always that easy.

But it's easy to love them, isn't it?

So when in doubt?
Go there.

Just love them.

Love them... and make sure you remember to show yourself some of that love too.

Because modern-day parenting?
It is NOT for the faint of heart..... but it IS for those who have a big heart.

And I know you've got one of those.
