Yesterday — in conjunction with the New Evangelistic Ministries — we held a Peace Walk, taking a lap around the school building while preaching peace, love, and togetherness. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
The spirit of Duquesne is to continuously strive towards excellence.

To cap off their unit on dinosaurs, Ms. Bond's students took their learning outside. Students excavated 'dinosaur eggs', revealing tiny dinosaurs. Afterwards, students reflected on their learning, pondering the diets, leg quantities, neck sizes, and more of their dinosaurs. A fun, hands-on way to learn about these ancient creatures!

Yesterday, we capped off a year of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) efforts with a culminating ceremony. Students had a blast playing some games and cheering for each other. In addition, K-6 students that earned the most Duke Bucks — given for following school-wide expectation — were honored. Congratulations, Amal Abukshrif, Dallas Booker, Khalifa Mohammadi, London Williams, Layla Amazu, and Andre Ellison!

Today, the district honored a legend. Joined by the whole school community, school board members, and Mr. DeWayne Tucker's family, the district honored Mr. Tucker's legacy, renaming the Duquesne City School District gym after him.
The gym, which hosts the Duquesne City students that Mr. Tucker was so fiercely dedicated to, is now named the DeWayne Tucker Gymnasium.
