What does innovation in education look like? In Western Pennsylvania, it’s all around us.

A new TribLive story explores how local school districts are creating more hands-on, collaborative, and career-connected learning experiences—from AI and robotics to makerspaces, entrepreneurship, and redesigned learning environments.

As Remake Learning Executive Director Tyler Samstag put it: “We have to continuously be evolving what students are learning, how students are learning and the skills that are most important that we’re teaching in schools.”

Meet some of the educators and students building the future of learning across our region:

Students encased in glass-walled rooms scribble math equations on whiteboards. Their peers pitch product proposals to business leaders as the whir of drones weaving about a nearby robotics lab fills the air. This isn’t a glimpse into the future of education. It’s a look inside Western Pe...

Last week, we had the opportunity to see the power of summer learning firsthand.

Thank you to Bridge to Learn, Neighborhood Learning Alliance, Melting Pot Ministries, and all the educators, mentors, staff, and community partners who welcomed us during the Summer Learning Tour.

Summer learning is so much more than keeping young people busy. It's about curiosity, creativity, relationships, belonging, and helping every child discover who they are and who they can become.

Thank you for making our region a place where learning happens everywhere.
