Grateful for the opportunity to create something so meaningful 💛 This is my 7-min video interview for The Instant Photo: Family Stories program, a collaboration between and , where I share my thoughts on identity, my family’s immigration story, and my experience as a creative business owner.
This program is working with youth (ages 6–13) from the Asiatown Learning Circle, helping them explore and tell their family stories through instant photography. Thank you to my dear friend for thinking of me for this project!
I remember a couple years ago seeing a Lao last name on an ad for Target or always looking for Lao people being credited in movies. It’s such a proud feeling for all my Lao brothers and sisters. Storytelling like this matters. Representation matters. Creating space for young people to see themselves, their families, and their experiences reflected, matters.
