For decades, permaculture has inspired people around the world to rethink how we grow food, build community, steward land, and live together.

But inspiration alone is no longer enough.

Communities today need trained people who can step forward with real skills, real projects, and real solutions.

At PINA, we’ve been asking an important question:
What does permaculture need next?

On June 9, we’ll begin sharing our answer.

Save your spot to hear what we are planning:

Something REALLY important is taking shape.

Just having fun making stuff for a new class.

I would like to live in the second slide.

Here everyone cares about their neighbors ~ plant and animal alike ~ and they work together to create the community vibe they want ✨

It's not idealistic if we all imagine it 🫶🫶🫶

It's been a while but I keep coming back to the idea ~ Share seeds, grow love 🌻🌻🌻

This day (stretch of time) makes me sad every year.

We cannot say Happy Earth Day and be done with it. It just doesn't work like that.

We cannot have celebrations that make waste to plant a tree and say "I've done my earth care"

We cannot spend one day (or two weekends in a row) saying celebrate this beautiful spinning sphere that naturally provides us with everything we could need ~ and then trash her for the rest of the year.

I wish we (as a collective) had the same attention and care for the earth every day that we seem to be capable of holding for a single Happy Earth Day 🌍

I personally enjoy finding places like these to go and ground myself, recharge, rest, adventure, play, protect.
I would like to think they will be here for future generations, but the reality is if we don't start caring and making every day earth day to some degree it's just not going to be here for them the same way.

This Earth Day see if you can take 5 minutes and just sit next to a tree, stare at a plant or feel the breeze on your face. Take intentional time to reconnect to the Earth. We are not separate from the earth but a part of her. Remember 💖

* Not saying don't celebrate! Celebrate the Earth at all her events ~ just carry that same energy and love for the Earth with you after the event.

Progress is hard to measure sometimes. Sometimes it looks like backwards movement. Sometimes it looks like burning a meadow and letting new seeds germinate. Sometimes it's loss before you get what you need. Sometimes it's mayapples finally spreading in a spot you gave up on.

I worry about these waters and hope they are here for future generations to keep searching for things like the Moraine Mermaid (she only comes out when you're really committed to protecting the shores of Lake Arthur so you may not have seen her;).

I try to shove those worries away even as protections are stripped from our water ways and forests and ecosystems. I try to keep finding hope that the love and light so many of us shine into our communities will make a difference. I take my daughter and my dog and disappear into nature as often as possible because I hope to help her grow a deep relationship with the earth so she always wants to protect these waters.

This is a new moon to get really intentional. Let the energy in the cosmos help you burn away all the things you have outgrown, all the behaviors that don't serve you anymore. Let it burn your anger and rage. Then rise like a phoenix into the new that you would like to grow. Think about what you would do with your life if you could follow your passion without fear or self judgement.

Ground into the earth and let the seeds of love and desire you have planted over the years sprout and thrive.

Plant love into your soul.

Plant love into your community.

Now is not the time to give up.

Now is the time to envision the future we want to grow.
