Miss Moore's KO Kindergarten

I hope everyone has been enjoying summer! My family and I just got back from Sandbridge Beach, Virginia and despite Hurricane Debby dropping a lot of rainy days on us, we had a great week. Please drop some pictures of your summer adventures in the comments! ☀️ I can’t believe how fast summer has flown by and that school is right around the corner.

With that being said, I wanted to take a quick moment to say how much I have absolutely loved teaching your children over the years! Kindergarten is such a magical year of growth and learning. I know there are some siblings that are ready for kindergarten this year and some hopeful parents that they would land in my class. However, my days as a Kindergarten teacher at Myrtle have come to an end. But have no fear, I am not leaving KO or Myrtle! I am now an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. I will be at Myrtle a few days a week and at Dormont a few days. I’ll be working with students in grades K-5, so it is possible I will still have your kiddo if they will be receiving ESL supports. I will be pushing in to classrooms, so there is still a good chance your kids will still see me regularly in their classroom even if they don’t receive ESL supports! 🙂

Leaving kindergarten was a difficult choice for me, but I am ready to tackle a new adventure! Please know that I am always here for you all and your kiddos and am only an email away if you need me! ❤️

As always, our PFO knocked it out of the park and planned another awesome myrtlepalooza!! The kids had the best time! Thank you for all of your hard work Myrtle Avenue Elementary School PFO!!!!!

Friday is Myrtlepalooza! Your child brought home this paper today full of important reminders. Please read it carefully and let me know if you have any questions!

Happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the moms and caretakers who are with us and those who are not—biological moms, adoptive moms, step moms, bonus moms, foster moms, grandmas, school moms, aunties, pet moms, and anyone else who has stepped in to make sure kiddos are taken care.

I don’t have children of my own, but am so grateful that you share your kids with me and I am able to love them and call them “my kids” for the rest of my life—because they will be!

I hope everyone had a day filled with whatever makes them happiest! ❤️

Oh my goodness, we had THE BEST DAY at The Aviary today! We got some time to explore on our own and saw penguins, flamingos, & even encountered some roaming birds! We got to attend the Habitat Heroes show which was just beyond amazing. No photography was allowed, but we learned about a lot of birds and they flew right over our heads! We got to see an owl, an eagle, macaws, a crane, a parrot, a hawk, and even an armadillo. We also went to Nature’s Diner and Mother Nature taught us about birds beaks and what kind of foods they eat. It was such a fun day! 🦅🦩🐧🦉🦜

Thank you again to the parents that came with us today and made our day even more special! An extra special GIANT thank you goes to Kinder With Mrs. Lucas for organizing everything today even though birds are not her favorite animal 😂❤️

Tomorrow is our field trip to the Aviary!!

A few reminders:
-please make sure kids wear tennis shoes and their tie dye shirts!
-please pack your student a lunch that can all be thrown away when lunch is over! No Tupperware, reusable water bottles, etc.
-please be on time to school!
