🔥 FIRE FACT MONDAY 🔥

Did you know the first 5 feet around your home may be the most important 5 feet for wildfire protection?

That small area closest to your home can make a big difference. Keeping it clear of pine needles, dry leaves, wood piles, dead vegetation, and other combustible debris can help reduce the chance of embers or flames finding an easy path to your home.

Take a few minutes this week to walk around your property and see what you can clean up.

And don’t forget you can bring your approved brush to the PSFR Brush Pit on Sunday. 🌲🚛

Every yard that gets cleaned up helps reduce fuel and makes our Pine-Strawberry community a little safer.

Clean it up. Clear the fuel. Protect your home.

The Big Red Barn is getting ready for Saturday! Come shop the PSFR Community Yard Sale on October 17 from 8 AM–2 PM at 3180 Old County Rd.

Have items to donate? Drop them off Thursday or Friday afternoon. We’re also looking for volunteers to help make the sale happen. Proceeds from PSFR’s donated items support firewise work right here in our community.

The Community Yard Sale is this Saturday, October 17, from 8 AM to 2 PM at the Big Red Barn, 3180 Old County Rd!

Come shop, sell, or lend a hand. Local businesses are welcome. Barn tables are $15 (table provided), and outdoor 10×10 spaces are $25 (bring your own setup). Spaces are first come, first served.

Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction is also accepting items to sell on Thursday, October 15, and Friday, October 16, in the afternoon. Proceeds from PSFR’s donated items go back into our community’s firewise work. Volunteers are needed, too!

Vendors can set up Friday from 3–5 PM or Saturday from 7–8 AM.

BRUSH PIT CLOSED SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11

Due to the upcoming weather, the Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction Brush Pit will be closed this Sunday. We don’t want to take any unnecessary risks with our volunteers or community members.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Please hold onto your brush while the pit is closed. We’ll keep you posted on when we reopen.

🔥 FIRE FACT MONDAY 🔥

Did you know your home can ignite during a wildfire even if the flames never reach your property?

One of the biggest threats to homes during a wildfire is actually flying embers.

Embers can travel ahead of a wildfire and land in places like:

🌲 Pine needles around your home
🍂 Dry leaves and yard debris
🏠 Gutters and rooflines
🪵 Decks and other combustible areas

That means something as simple as cleaning up the dry material around your property can make a difference.

This week, take some time to clean your yard, gather those pine needles, leaves and approved brush and bring your brush to the PSFR Brush Pit on Sunday. 🚛🌿

Every property that gets cleaned up helps reduce available wildfire fuel and strengthens our entire Pine-Strawberry community.

Clean it up. Bring it in. Help reduce the fuel. 🌲🔥

🌲 Trail Work Tuesday October Schedule

Progress continues on the Buckshot Trail south of Pine, and we’d love to have you join us! We’re getting closer to connecting Buckshot to the Highline Trail, helping create a roughly 5-mile loop from the Pine Trailhead.

October Work Days:
• Oct. 13 : 8 AM
• Oct. 20 : 8 AM
• Oct. 27 : 8 AM
• Oct. 31 : 8 AM 🎃 Costumes optional!

📍 Meet at the entrance to the shooting range south of Pine.

From Pine/Strawberry: Head south on Hwy 87 past the Pine Trailhead, continue about ¾ mile, and watch for the large dirt turnout on the left.

From Payson: Pass the Control Road turnoff, continue about 6/10 of a mile, and turn right.

Newcomers are welcome, there’s no commitment, and everyone works at their own pace. Tools, training and safety briefings are provided.

🥾 Wear long sleeves, long pants and closed-toe shoes

🌲 Sunday is Brush Pit Day! 🌲

The Pine Strawberry Brush Pit will be open this Sunday from 9 AM to 3 PM, giving our community a safe, convenient and cost-effective place to dispose of acceptable brush and yard debris.

Please bring your pine needles, leaves, small branches and manzanita but remember: the Brush Pit is for brush only.

🚫 No plastic bags
🚫 No bottles or household trash
🚫 No plywood, lumber or large tree trunks

Please empty acceptable materials from your bags and take all bags, containers and trash home with you.

The Brush Pit helps you reduce wildfire fuel around your home, and respecting the rules helps Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction keep this important resource safe, secure and available for our entire community. Every load and every donation supports our continued wildfire-prevention efforts.

COMMUNITY YARD SALE AT THE BIG RED BARN! 🏡

Saturday, October 17 | 8 AM–2 PM
3180 Old County Road

Come shop, sell your wares, and support Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction! Local businesses and vendors are welcome.

Vendor spaces:

• Indoor barn table $15 (table provided)
• Outdoor 10×10 space $25 (pop-up and tables not provided)

There are 15 indoor tables and 20 outdoor spaces. Spaces are first come, first served. All fees are nonrefundable.

Vendor setup:

• Friday, October 16: 3–5 PM
• Saturday, October 17: 7–8 AM
• Load-out: Saturday, 2–4 PM

The site will be unattended overnight. The barn will be locked after Friday setup.

PSFR also gladly accepts donated items to sell during the yard sale. All proceeds from donated items go directly back into our community to help create a more firewise community.

Donation drop-off:

Our littlest riders are ready to roll! 🚲🔥 Bring the family to Fire on the Rim tomorrow and let your young cyclist join the fun!

The Kids Race begins at 2:00 PM for ages 14 and under. It’s two laps around the corral, with registration available on race day.
