🚀🇮🇹 FROM PINE RIDGE TO ITALY

Maȟpíya Lúta student Paeton Janis took her passion for learning beyond the classroom this summer, traveling to Italy for an intensive Space Sciences and Engineering program.

From rocket science and Python coding to experiencing a new country and sharing her Lakȟota culture, Paeton’s journey opened new possibilities for her future. 🌎✨

Elyssa Sierra Her Many Horses (Cheyenne River Sioux, Oglála, Ojibwa and Taos Pueblo) sees the restoration of language as the foundation for a strong education, identity and community life. She is working toward a future where Lakota is spoken in homes, schools and community spaces as a living, primary language.
