Introducing… The Nest’s Lavender Farm Stand! 💜🪴
we are so excited to share a play-based, project-based learning experience coming to The Nest this school year!
The Lavender Farm Stand will be much more than a place to find beautiful handmade items. It will become a living classroom - a place where children discover that learning happens through creating, growing, serving, and sharing. Throughout the year, our students will grow flowers and vegetables, collect fresh eggs from our chickens, make lemonade and baked goods, create artwork and handmade crafts, arrange wildflower bouquets, practice math by counting money and making change, strengthen reading and writing through signs, labels, menus, and advertisements and build confidence by greeting customers, solving problems, and working together. But most importantly – children will learn that their God-given gifts can be used to bless others. ❤️
you may be wondering… Why “Lavender”? We chose the name intentionally. Lavender is a timeless theme found throughout children’s literature. It evokes, peaceful gardens, countryside, adventures, imagination, simplicity, and the wonder of childhood – the very atmosphere we strive to create at The Nest. It reminds us to slow down, notice God‘s creation, and delight in the little things.
The color purple also carries beautiful biblical symbolism. Throughout Scripture, purple represents royalty, honor, dignity, and worship. It reminds us that every child is wonderfully made, deeply loved by God, and created with purpose as sons and daughters of the King.
The Lavender Farm Stand beautifully reflects who we are as a school – a place where faith, creativity, nature, and meaningful learning growth together. This is play-based and project-based learning at its best. We can’t wait to watch our students plant seeds, create beautiful things, solve real problems, serve our community, and discover the joy of learning by doing.
