Another summer has come to a close. The barn is clean and empty.
We always reflect on the last cleanout about all the people and businesses who made this possible for our students.
20 students had experiences they wouldn’t otherwise if not for the generosity of those hanging on our wall. We are always grateful for their commitment to our program.

Also a huge shout out to kids parents for their unwavering commitment to their students projects.

Joel and Janna Fritz, thanks for being the backbone of our barn for the past 4 years. Embracing our motto of, leave it better than you found it.

What a great summer.

Gracie is the daughter of Robert & Tonya Prill and Carmen & Ralph Brackenberry

Gracie is 16 years old and will be entering her junior year at EPBP Lakers. She is active in Laker FFA, Rotary Interact, the National Honor Society, and the school band. She also participates in volleyball, basketball, and track.

Hello everyone, it’s Sydney Protzman.
I get the blessing to serve as a Region III Representative this year. Apart of our year of service, we attend State Leadership Conference for Regional Officers in Lansing. This was a one day conference where we focused on learning how to create engaging workshops through using the “magic formula” for the members of our region, and facilitation techniques to grow and engage members.
We also learned our personality types, leading styles, and how to play to those strengths. Lastly, we got to work with the people in our region to get the ball rolling on plans for the upcoming year. We went through 6 sessions today, each with their own goals.
We got to hear from the new state officers as well as some from this past year. This conference helped me learn more about myself and what style I lead in as well as how to use language and planning techniques to make effective workshops to impact students. I can’t wait to use what we learned today to make a positive year of service!

Hey everyone! It’s Sadie Steinman.
Today I completed the two day conference of Challenge 24 that was held at MSU. This conference is for students who are interested in becoming an Ag teacher.

Over the past two days, the information really opened my eyes and allowed me to dip my toes into what it’s like “on the other side” of FFA. We got to create lesson plans, learn about teaching strategies, discussed future opportunities that are in store and got to enjoy time hanging out with like minded individuals.

I cannot wait to see where this will take me and optimistic to what is to come!

Hi there! I’m Sydney Protzman here to highlight our last day of WLC. We began the morning with some breakfast and our service project. We worked in groups to pack oatmeal packs for Meals Of Hope. We were able to pack 68,000 packs for families in need!
We then ate lunch to give us energy for our time in the city! We got to choose between going to Arlington or the Smithsonian Museums. All of us Laker girls took a day to spend time with each other and went to the Air & Space Museum and the Natural History Museum.
After our time in the city, we came back to a taco bar for dinner. We then had our last session with our small groups where we reflected on the week and set our LTS plans in stone.
We ended the night with a reflection video about our week here and wise words from our facilitators. But of course, we had to go out with a bang, so upon completion of the sessions and reflections, we had a dance in the ballroom!
After the dance, all the Michigan people packed into the bus for a looooong ride home. We are all so grateful for this opportunity, we were able to make so many new friends, learn more about servant leadership, and push ourselves out of our comfort zones!

And just like that our week at WLC comes to a close!

Hi! This is Izzy Prill and I’m highlighting day 3 in D.C.
We began the morning off with getting into our Offical Dress and went down to have a build your own breakfast burrito’s!! They were super tasty and delicious!
After breakfast we began our way over to the Capitol where we would take a group photo on the stairs followed by some group pictures!
Until noon, we were allowed to explore the capitol, go to Thomas Jefferson‘s library, or go to the garden! While where there we went to Starbucks and got to see even for fighter jets fly over and it was super cool!
After a long morning we came back to the hotel for lunch which was pulled pork which was very tasty and our belly’s were full for our next session which was about making our LTS plan and our call to action!
We learned so much valuable information that we are able to take back to our chapter and improve as a leader!
After such a long day of lessons and being at the capitol, we needed the day off with dinner and a game night with friends and a dance party!
It was so much fun and we had such an amazing day!!!

Hello!! This is Gracie Prill, on Wednesday we started the morning off with some tasty chicken and waffles provided by our hotel for breakfast. Following we had our third and fourth session of the conference, learning about why we are here and advocacy!
Continuing after lunch we had our fifth and sixth sessions about exploring our passions and understanding global needs.
We then all traveled to the center of Washington D.C for our night tour! We started the night off at the Lincoln and World War ll Memorial. Later in the night we traveled to the Thomas Jefferson and Martin Luther King Memorial. Where we were given the chance to see some really cool jets flying over top of us!
We ended the night by taking a lap around the Iwo Jima Memorial. This opportunity was an amazing experience! We were able to see what change makers shaped our country and learn from them. When we reached the hotel during the last bits of the day we had quiet time reflecting on the events of the day. The entire day we learned so much and made so many fun memories! Even if our feet hurt by the end it was all so worth it.
