🀄️ Anyone who plays Mahjong will tell you that breaking down the NMJL card is one of the hardest parts of learning Mahjong!

One of our favorite tips for getting more comfortable with the card is learning how to read patterns! 👀 Once you start spotting them, the card becomes SO much easier to navigate.

💨 Today’s tip: Understanding WINDS!

In the Winds & Dragons, 13579 & 2468 sections, there’s a simple pattern to remember:

✨ East + West = EVEN numbers
✨ North + South = ODD numbers

Need an easy way to remember? Here’s our little Mahjong trick:

🧭 NORTH & SOUTH have an “O”
➡️ O = ODD

🧭 EAST & WEST have an “E”
➡️ E = EVEN

So when you’re staring at the card thinking, “Where do I even start?!” 😵‍💫 — let the letters do the work for you!

O = Odd | E = Even 🀄️💡
