Meg Carter Pottery Hand crafted pottery made for the kitchen and table that will add color and art to your kitchen, your table and your life. I immediately fell in love.

I have been making pottery since 1995 when I walked into a ceramics 1 class for an elective at Virginia Tech. I was an environmental science major with a minor in art and by chance, and the encouraging of a friend, I found an art that was functional!! What an amazing media clay is. Clay is limited only by ones imagination and experience. My ceramic influences are a mix mash of formal and informal seminars, workshops, and classes, as well as other potters and artists that I admire. I love using ceramic plates, bowls, and mugs everyday. It’s such a lovely way to enjoy that cup of coffee, pot of tea, or a beautiful kale salad in a piece of art. So whether you choose just a piece or two or a complete set, my hope is that my pottery will add color and art to your kitchen, your table and your life.

I’ve had fun making examples for my advanced ceramics class. We are going to make great things this year. NCHS 2025

Getting ready to deliver some Mugs for Local Jonny's. It's taken awhile to get these finished but when there is a will there is a way. Lots of great new colors from the glaze palate at the Mesa Art Center too!

Throughout history, societies and communities that embraced the arts often found themselves at the forefront of social and political change – decades ahead of those that have discouraged or diminished the role of the arts in their societies. Our rich history of social and political progress is due...
