Kennedy Elementary School, Home of the Colts is a Pre-K to 3rd Grade School. We are located in the Roosevelt School District in the heart of South Phoenix. JFK families, please join us for Literacy Night!

📅 Wednesday, September 23, 2026
⏰ 4:00–6:00 p.m.

4:00 p.m. -Meet with Principal Hart in the cafeteria
4:30 p.m.:- Enjoy literacy activities with teachers in each grade-level area

During this event, families will learn practical strategies and receive resources to support literacy at home.

Kennedy students will receive free books from Scholastic! 📖

🎉 Attendance Challenge: The class with the most families in attendance will win either a free dress-down day or a class pizza party!

We look forward to an evening of learning, family fun, and literacy. Thank you for helping make Literacy Night a success!

Hello Kennedy Families!

Today, all 2nd grade students received a Summer Reading Pack to support reading and learning throughout the summer as they prepare for 3rd grade.

Inside your child’s MyBook Summer Reading Pack, you will find engaging books, fun activity sheets connected to each story, and a summer reading journal.

We encourage students to complete the comprehension questions and activity pages included in the packet. Students who turn in their completed comprehension questions during the first week of school will receive a special prize!

These books are a gift for your family to enjoy again and again. Thank you for supporting literacy at home, and we hope you have a wonderful, safe, and relaxing summer.

Today was a pretty magical day for our students ❄️✨
They got to experience a live performance of Frances Smith Cohen’s Snow Queen thanks to our friends at the Herberger Theatre—and they were completely captivated. Even better, they had the chance to meet and interact with some of the dancers, which made the whole experience feel even more special.
Opportunities like this don’t come around every day, and it’s safe to say this is one they won’t forget anytime soon 🎭
