One chapter closes… and another begins.
For decades, these walls have witnessed the heartbeat of a community — Sensei Rick’s vision, discipline, and unwavering belief in what true martial arts represents. Every bow, every belt earned, every lesson taught within these four walls has built a foundation stronger than any structure could hold.
Today, those very pillars — both in wood and in wisdom — are being carried to their new home. And with them, the legacy continues. Sensei Damien now steps forward, not to replace, but to build upon the legacy that came before him. The baton is passed not in farewell, but in trust — trust that the same spirit, respect, and tradition will rise again in a new space.
The dojo may look different, but its soul remains unchanged. Because the heart of Mountainside Martial Arts has never been the building — it’s the people, the discipline, and the family we’ve built together.
Here’s to honoring where we’ve been, and embracing all that lies ahead.
👊🏼 The legacy continues.
🕊️ One chapter ends — a new dojo, a new dawn, the same spirit.

🥋 Parent Testimonial – Why We Choose Mountainside Martial Arts
Our family continues to choose Mountainside Martial Arts because the very foundation and principles this dojo stands on mirror the ones we build our family upon — discipline, dedication, and devotion.
This isn’t just a sport or an extracurricular; it’s a lifestyle that cultivates responsibility, respect, and resilience both on the mat and at home. The balance between individual growth and family involvement is unlike anything else — it’s truly a community built on purpose and principle.
What makes Mountainside even more special are the world-class athletes, mentors, and leaders who pour into these students. Watching our children evolve — from their first belt to stepping into leadership roles — fills us with pride. We know they are not only learning martial arts; they’re learning how to live with integrity, confidence, and compassion.
We’re grateful to be part of something so rooted in tradition and heart. Mountainside Martial Arts doesn’t just teach karate — it shapes character.

🥋 What an incredible night!
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at First Fridays with Ahwatukee 411 at Mountain Park Church! We had an amazing time connecting with families, playing games, sharing laughs, and showing what Mountainside Martial Arts is all about — discipline, community, and heart.
We’re so grateful to be part of such a supportive and energetic community. Every smile, every high-five, and every conversation reminded us why we do what we do. 💪
Special thanks to and Mountain Park Church for hosting such a great event. We can’t wait for the next one!
👊 Until then — keep training, keep growing, and keep showing up with that Mountainside spirit!

We are honored to share that Sensei Damien will now step into the role of Head Instructor. With gratitude, respect, and commitment, he looks forward to carrying on this tradition — strengthening our skills, our spirit, and our community for years to come.
