Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for our 40th Anniversary party! American Traveler Press is lucky to be surrounded by such a great community. And thanks to all who sent your messages, too; lots and lots of balloons and confetti on our FB feed this week!

Over the years, our company has evolved, including our logo.
Originally - as far back as 1970 - we used a target with an arrow. It's to the Point was the slogan for our books.
When we bought Renaissance House Publishers (in 1998), we took their logo (three arches on top of each other) and added a wandering road. (Also, the 3 arches were a nice representation of the 3 generations of Fesslers running the company.
When we brought in Golden West Publishers (in 2012), we included their sun in our logo. This is where we are today.
On Saturday, feel free to visit our Celebration (2-4pm at Changing Hands Phoenix) and see if you can find other logos we've used on our books.

I'm sure you already know this, but we're having a celebration this Saturday at Changing Hands Bookstore. 2-4pm at 300 W Camelback Rd. Please join us for our 40th Anniversary in Phoenix!

We ordered some cupcakes from Y-Vi's Artisan Sweets (https://y-vis.com/) for the party, and asked for Ghosts to decorate the tops. Here's why:

Just the Stars – SKY LIGHTS 11/20/2019

In high school, I had the best physics teacher. We learned by "doing." We had a Space Shuttle flight simulator in the room (I tended to bounce off the atmosphere during re-entry). We built a giant ball made of lead to see if we could witness its gravitational pull. And our exams were usually made of questions about a skateboarder who tried to turn too fast, and "did he make it?"
That teacher was Dan Heim, who is now an author of three of our books, including the Easy Field Guide to the Southwestern Night Sky. He also writes a weekly blog about science, especially things related to outer space (check it out: www.sky-lights.org).
Dan will be at our 40th anniversary party this Saturday (2-4, Changing Hands Bookstore, Phoenix). He's bringing telescopes and globes, and I'm setting him up at the table in between the bacon and the dog - I'm sure he'll do fine.

Do you love dogs? Of course you do! Author Jodie Snyder and her furry friend Lizzy will be at our 40th Anniversary Party on Saturday, 2-4pm at Changing Hands Phoenix. Kids 12 and under get to pet Lizzy for two minutes, no charge. Teenagers will be able to sneak Lizzy some Ginger Snap Cookies. And adults are in charge of keeping the cupcakes away from the soon-to-be overweight dog! (note: this photo is not of Lizzy, but he is almost as cute!)

The Herb Guy's Cookbook - desserts 11/18/2019

Dennis Ellingson (The Herb Guy) will be joining us at our 40th Anniversary Party this Saturday. He is bringing some of his Ginger Snap Cookies, although I'm trying to talk him into bringing some of that Cinnamon Apple Pan Dowdy!
We'll be at Changing Hands Phoenix (300 W Camelback Rd), from 2 to 4pm. Maybe do a little shopping that day, then stop by our favorite bookstore and celebrate our 40 years of book publishing in Arizona.

Celebrate with us on 11/23/19 at Changing Hands Phoenix.
