By third grade, Jessica F. still couldnโ€™t read. The letters didnโ€™t make sense, and the words werenโ€™t clicking.

Then one teacher helped make them make sense.

But she gave Jessica something even bigger than the ability to read. She gave her a love of reading.

Today, Jessica is a paraprofessional at Achieve School for Autism. She reads about a book a week and has even started writing one of her own.

Thatโ€™s the kind of impact that keeps moving.

A teacher once helped Jessica discover what was possible for her. Now, she gets to be part of a team helping students discover whatโ€™s possible for them.

Sometimes the impact of a great teacher doesnโ€™t end with the student.

๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ญ ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ: sometimes the thing you get โ€œtrickedโ€ into doing becomes the thing that helps you find your voice.

Matthew B., a member of Achieveโ€™s Behavior Team, remembers feeling pretty aimless in high school.

Then came his first play, a theater teacher who became a mentor, and a place where he began learning how to speak up, stand in front of a crowd, and feel more comfortable in his own skin.

Years later, Matthew is part of a team helping students discover confidence, connection, and a place where they belong.

Funny how the people who help us find our footing have a way of showing up in the lives we go on to touch.

And sometimes it means grabbing a spoon, adding some googly eyes, and creating a brand-new friend named Spoony.

Our Phoenix team jumped into this hands-on activity during staff preparation for the new school year. It is an activity they can later introduce to students to encourage creativity, connection, and a little low-pressure fun as everyone settles back into the classroom.

Because getting ready to learn does not always begin with a lesson plan.

Sometimes it begins with laughter, imagination, and a spoon with an unexpectedly fabulous personality.

After ten years at our former location on White Mountain Road, we had outgrown the space. Our new Show Low campus gives us the opportunity to expand what we can offer students while continuing to support them throughout their K through 12 journey.

The new campus includes space for music, art, science, physical activity, a shared gym, and ABA therapy for primary students. It was designed to feel warm, welcoming, clean, and safe so students can learn, families can feel comfortable, and our community can continue growing together.

We are excited about this next chapter and everything this new space makes possible.
