Dominican Advance creates opportunity for A Brighter Future through quality, Christ-centered schools and educational programs to impoverished people living in the Dominican Republic and beyond. All of Dominican Advance's schools and programs successfully operate in areas where household incomes are little more than a dollar a day per person. Our combined enrollment for the 2025-26 school year is

900 students from grade K-12. We also have more than 20 graduates earning their degrees at three different national universities. In October 2021, our three semi-private, Christian schools were awarded the certificate of “Model Schools for the Dominican Republic” by the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic. In October 2023, at the urging of the Ministry of Education, the Alta Vista High School was converted into a technical school where students earn college credits and learn valuable principles in the fields of Tourism & Hospitality and Information Systems. We are currently fundraising to expand our facilities so more students will be able to take advantage of this excellent program. Our Brighter Future College Endowment program provides tuition-free university education for qualified high school graduates. As of December 2025, five of our students had graduated from university with degrees in School Psychology, Accounting, Industrial Engineering, and Modern Languages. Child sponsorship remains foundational to all of our work in the Dominican Republic and has enriched hundreds of families with its cross-cultural connections in the Dominican, United States, Canada and the UK. One of our pillars for success is that we believe in student sponsorship and there are three reasons for this:

1-Changes a Child's Future

Opportunity for a brighter future begins with education and inspiration. Sponsorship gives a child a 65% greater chance of achieving his or her dream. One child's achievements change the future of an entire family.

2-Satisfies a Giving Heart

Whether they pursue a relationship with their child or not, each and every sponsor sees their investment in their child's life as a source of personal satisfaction and joy.

3-Builds a World Community

Sponsorship is one of the most powerful means of removing barriers and building bridges across geographic, political, and cultural borders. 📍FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 2ND FLOOR AT OUR TECHNICAL SCHOOL🇩🇴ALTA VISTA
🤲Help us build a second floor at our technical school, adding 4 more classrooms to the 3 already existing on the first floor, to accommodate 120 additional students. This will make it the best and most advanced technical school in the Sosua region of Puerto Plata.🇩🇴

Play 4 Poverty! Our annual charity event is on April 18th and is one of our favorite events. All profits from the day + donations will be given to Dominican Advance, with whom we are working closely to help build a second story onto the technical school. We are also collecting items for our local food bank. You can play all our adventures for one low price and stay all day! Free entry to our raffle with every admission! 📍🇩🇴2nd edition of 🏃🏽‍♀️MOVE AND LIVE🏃, sports activities at our Alta Vista High School & Technical School.
The school enthusiastically celebrated the second edition of MOVE AND LIVE, a sports day bringing together students, teachers, parents, and neighboring educational centers. Races, board games, soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments punctuated this activity focused on health, integration, and teamwork. This initiative continues to reinforce values, healthy lifestyle habits, and community cohesion, confirming MOVE AND LIVE as an essential event for the development of young people. Thanks to the leadership of director Yamilka Estrada and the support of the staff, the event took place in a dynamic and safe atmosphere. Thank you to the organizers, the media, and the Civil Defense for their collaboration.Politécnico Alta Vista .
