Roosevelt School District No. 66 was established in Phoenix, Arizona in 1912. The first RSD school was located south of the Phoenix City Center on the corner of what is now 7th Street and Southern. What began as a 15-pupil district has grown into a school district serving more than 7,500 students and 1,200 employees in 20 schools, an early childhood education center and a Neighborhood Technology R

Congratulations to Roosevelt School District Superintendent Dr. Dani Portillo, who was honored today by the Arizona Alliance of Black School Educators (AZABSE) at their 12th Annual Teacher and Leadership Summit.
Dr. Portillo received the District Leader of the Year Award for her outstanding leadership and continued commitment to public education, student success, and educational excellence.
AZABSE is a network of educational professionals dedicated to improving educational opportunities and achievement within the African-American community.

The Roosevelt School District has established a Facility Naming Committee to ensure a community-centered process for renaming Cesar E. Chavez Community School.

Please vote on the finalist names, selected based on nominations and aligned with board policy.

Regardless of the name selected, the school colors (red and black) and mascot (the Bulldogs) will remain unchanged.
