I'm a big supporter of this idea. Including a student voice in governance decisions is the right thing to do. My vision when proposing Pendergast's student board member program (now with it's 11th class of 3 student non-voting board members) was to prepare those students for a future where they'd be doing just that in their high school lives.

Valley school district using VR in the classroom A Valley elementary school is taking classroom lessons into the virtual world. The Pendergast Elementary School District is using the virtual-reality technology with the help of Arizona State University and its partner Dreamscape.

I'm super proud of the work we've done in partnership with Arizona State University and Dreamscape Learn to become the 1st K-8 district to launch this learning program for ALL of our students.

Ms. Susan Serin has been an exceptional and active leader in the Pendergast community. She has proudly served on the Pendergast School District Governing Board for thirty-six consecutive years and has exhibited leadership throughout her involvement as a chairperson on numerous committees.
