It was great to have Bodybuilder Athlete Mustapha Kromah getting his training at Arsenal Weightlifting.

Pause squats are highly effective movement for generating power and speed and another great option to improve your strength and power out of the hole in the squat.
Pause squats done with 1, 3, 5 or a 7 second pause will not only help you build strength eliminating the benefits of the stretch reflex out of the hole, they will also build static, supportive strength in the lower back, hips and abs, teach you to stay tight and help your body find its strongest position.
Use a lighter weight than you normally would because the exercise completely eliminates any potential for bouncing back up out of the hole.
It is imperative that you always try to move the bar as fast as possible during these sets.

Congratulations to Master Athlete Mike Gebhardt for his podium finish at the Phoenix Open Weightlifting Meet. Unfortunately I wasn't able to coach the session due to work commitment but we stayed connected. We had a great training sessions leading up to the meet and Mike was well prepared mentally and physically.

An Athlete in any sport must bring passion and desire to every training session.

Doing two reps with a heavy, but not maximum, weight is one of the best methods for developing strength, power, technique, efficiency, consistency.
