What have we been up to lately? Just the normal school stuff… matching upper and lowercase letters, learning about rhymes, practicing Humpty Dumpty, counting while we dot clothes, finger painting, counting and stacking gifts, making Christmas tree toast, seeing what wind can move with a fan, and testing what different liquids do to poprocks.

Meet Ribbit! Ribbit goes home each Thursday- Tuesday with a different student. He has a photo album with pictures of all his adventures with students, lots of books to read, a movie teaching letter sounds, and sometimes we include a fun activity. Ribbit quickly became a favorite and each student loves to have his/her turn with our “pet”.

Our music/jazz unit was a blast. We made shakers, maracas, tambourines, and flutes. Some students got to practice on a drum, a piano, and a violin. We sang a lot of songs and learned so many things!

B is for bugs! We did an amazing bug unit and even raised lady bugs. We painted bugs, counted bugs, made our own shape bugs, played bug games, and learned to draw bugs.

Our pets unit was a blast! We learned what makes a pet, how to take care of pets, and even got to meet a new pet! We made a bird feeder and practiced feeding a bird worms, played with fake pets and practiced taking care of hurt pets, we practiced counting pets and making patterns, and so much more. It is one of my favorite units and ending with sharing Ms. Bailey’s tortoise made the last day so fun.
