Today we are reminded of the sacrifices that were made by the men and women who died fighting for our freedoms.

They paid the ultimate sacrifice so people they didn’t even know could be free.

Before you go on celebrating your three day weekend, take a moment to honor the reason why you have that time off.

I fear that we have come so far as a society from when these words were spoken. I fear we have taken our freedom for granted- so much so that people burn our flag and curse this nation. We are afforded so much opportunity because of the brave men and women who have fought for us.

Those who have died were someone’s father, brother, husband, wife, mother, daughter, son, sister.

Families left behind are forever changed and will always have a missing piece. They will forever remember the bravery and heroism displayed as their loved ones gave their lives for our country.

So today, remember that loss.

Remember the bravery.

Remember the sacrifice.
