Back to School Clothing Drive

Did you know Back to School Clothing Drive delivers more than $2 million in uniforms and supplies to Arizona students each year? We're proud supporters of this annual event that lets thousands of Valley kids start school with confidence!
This week, Back to School Clothing Drive delivered new school clothes, backpacks and school supplies to some of Arizona’s military families. Take a look at these scenes from Gila River Arena—it is our great pleasure to play a role in this remarkable program!
Stitches of Love is a wonderful volunteer group that makes handmade clothing and accessories to distribute to students through the Back to School Clothing Drive program. We were pleased to present a donation to these “sewing angels” for their commitment to underserved children.

Thank you Frontdoors Media for highlighting our newest investments! We are thrilled to have Read Better Be Better as our newest Investee, and provide support to Back to School Clothing Drive and Furnishing Dignity . Stay tuned for exciting updates and to see how we continue to make children successful through support of our community.
Exciting news!!

Our committee was so impressed with our other two finalists as well that we were inspired to support them in some way.

In an effort to support Furnishing Dignity and Back to School Clothing Drive, we will be supplying each organization with a one-time grant of $2,500, and making a meaningful connection to the community for each of them.

It's due to your support and generosity that we are able to increase our granting impact in this way! Thank you!

- Furnishing Dignity provides home furnishings for people transitioning from a shelter or foster care. As they look for more warehouse space, and increase their marketing efforts, they will be able to impact families in need and ensure that children are safe and supported in their homes.

- Back to School Clothing Drive provides clean clothes, shoes, and a backpack with school supplies to high-need children throughout Arizona. With additional support in the areas of e-commerce, they will serve an even wider community - filling a great need.
After receiving dozens of applications to become the next SVPAz Investee, our Investment Committee virtually toured the top three organizations last week!
Congratulations to our top three organizations: Furnishing Dignity, Read Better Be Better, and Back to School Clothing Drive.

Each organization was remarkable, and we look forward to confirming our 2021 full-time Investee very soon. Stay tuned for this exciting announcement!
Thank you to our Partners who dedicated their time to serving on this committee! We appreciate your efforts!

Thinking about the Back to School Clothing Drive today and so grateful for all the work you do. My grandmother, Selma Shefler, was one of your two founders. She is long gone but I check in on what you are up to frequently and I know she would be so proud to see how much you continue to accomplish. It's just astounding. With much love and appreciation to all of you for your hard work, dedication, and tenacity.
The Luke Chapel team is packing backpacks loaded with $300-$350 of clothing and school supplies for the Back2School Bash. We’re packing 5,000 backpacks and 275 are going to Luke Families.
Karl Gentles, executive director of Back to School Clothing Drive joins us to talk about the altered process this year of getting clothing and supplies to needy students and families this school year.

Many Arizona school districts have delayed in-student classes so the clothing drive has organized a new way to make sure the students receive what they need once school resumes.

Donations and partners are needed this year more than ever. Click this link for more information:
