Landmine Hack ⬇️

I love landmines for their versatility with loading multiplanar exercises heavily. On top of that, it’s a great tool to add variability to training to decrease boredom.

Been wanting to use landmines with our guys for a minute, but haven’t had a catcher for em. Then found this hack on YouTube (can’t remember whose video it was), so we tried it out today and loved it.

Grab a towel, bunch it up, and stick the landmine into the edge of the platform. Might also work if you have only a rack.

Here’s the three landmine exercises we used today:

We’re excited to offer two classes that are sure to improve your basketball playing!

Basketball Skills 🏀:
✅ This class uses a combination of Block and Decision Training, which research has shown to be extremely effective in both short- and long-term development.
✅ Tuesdays & Wednesdays at three different times based on age group.
✅ Held at Phoenix College.
✅ Ideal for intermediate and advanced players.
✅ Drills & Skills, Competitive Games, and Quality Coaching!

Athleticism 🏃🏃‍♀️:
✅ This class aims primarily to improve the speed, agility, and jumping abilities of athletes to make them more athletic.
✅ Mondays & Thursdays at three different times based on age group.
✅ Held at Phoenix College.
✅ Ideal for intermediate and advanced players.

Speed is a key performance quality to most athletes in team sports.

Short-distance speed (acceleration) is of particular importance, especially for basketball.

With sprints occurring in a variety of ways in sports, we should practice them from a myriad of positions.

Here is Jamar Brown (W 2023) of the Phoenix College Men’s Basketball team doing Scramble Sprints.

Do mountain climbers for the prescribed time or reactive (as done here), and then sprint.

The cones are there as a visual goal for stride length on the first three steps.

This is one of the drills and overall concepts that we’ll be using in the Athleticism class on Mondays and Thursdays.

Premier will be offering an Athleticism class to the athletic community in Phoenix‼️

Do you want to improve in any of the following areas?

✅ Jumping

✅ Core and Bodyweight Strength

If you’re an athlete, then these are all areas that will enhance your performance! 🏃🏃‍♀️

This class is ideal for basketball and volleyball athletes, but any athlete will certainly benefit from the work that’ll be done. 🏀🏐

We’ll be capping groups at 12 students to maximize repetitions and build a small community of like-minded individuals who are motivated to get better.

Sessions are held at Phoenix College. Offered twice per week at three different times for different age levels. Recommended for intermediate and advanced level athletes.
