Ever wondered about rabbit and rodent dentistry? The approach is different because their oral cavity is so inaccessible. A table top mouth gag helps visualize the oral cavity and an anesthetic circuit is held over the nose because they are obligate nasal breathers. It’s so different but so interesting.

I don’t remember where I found these but if you’ve ever taken on a scary task or tried to advance your career, you might have dealt with imposter syndrome. I think you can experience this coming out of vet tech school. Some us will never feel prepared.
And with it being , I thought I’d put this out there in solidarity with those who can relate. Take care of you.

I'm Stefanie Perry and I've been a technician for about 17 years. I was certified in the state of Arizona in 2010 and achieved my Veterinary Technician Specialty in Dentistry in 2020. I've always loved dentistry from the first cleaning I did many years ago. I love the role the technician plays and how we can help relieve pain and make a huge difference in the lives of our patients. Now that I've met some of my goals, I can help others find the same joy in dentistry and help relieve the frustration that comes with it. You go through school and graduate (yay!!), but many aren't given the opportunity to really excel at dentistry in school. I know how frustrating and scary it can be to try honing your skills with patients under anesthesia and a schedule to keep. I'm here to help with that anxiety and hopefully convert some people to being as nerdy about it as I am! I'd love to hear about all of you, and what help you're looking for! If you'd rather send a DM, my inbox is open!
