We are so grateful for our amazing families! Thank you for coming together to collect canned foods for our district community and for filling our campus with joy during our Turkey Trot and Book Fair. These events were such a fun way to gather, celebrate, and show what makes Simis so special.

Burch & Cracchiolo Law Firm sponsors the Star Teacher Award, and our AMAZING 2nd grade teacher Ms. Atkinson was nominated by a parent for this special recognition! 🏆
Her class was over the moon when she WON $500 for her classroom and $250 for the school! 💰🎉
Her students already know it—learning in Ms. Atkinson’s class is pure magic and SO much fun! ✨📚

🌍✨ 1st Grade Culture Rotations! ✨🌍
As part of our 1st Grade IB unit on how family origins shape who we are, our students spent the past two days exploring Culture Rotations! Each class visited all of the 1st-grade rooms, where they were introduced to a different country and its unique traditions. Students learned about inventions, foods, flags, and customs—and even created a special craft at each stop.
We love watching our students celebrate global perspectives, curiosity, and connection! 💛🌎📚

Our annual kindergarten rodeo serves as the provocation for our IB unit on holiday celebrations and traditions, giving students the opportunity to explore and experience a local tradition that celebrates our school community.

Over the last two days we welcomed Grand Canyon Reader Award nominated author Dianne White to Simis! She spoke with students about her journey as a writer and how ordinary, everyday moments can spark story ideas. Students also gained insight into the book-making process and the collaboration between authors and illustrators. Dianne encouraged our students to live like writers by observing the world around them, keeping a notebook of ideas and wonders, and writing—something—every day!
