Congratulations to our Coding student Maanvik Poddar for being selected as 2026 Outstanding Phoenix Youth Leader in District 1. This event was such an honor. Maanvik was joined by Principal Casillas and Superintendent of West-MEC, Dr. Spurgeon. We are so very proud of Maanvik!

Another great night of Follow Your Arrow where incoming Medical Assisting, Auto Tech, Advanced Manufacturing, Electrical, and Construction students signed their letters of commitment. We are so excited for the 2026-2027 school year!

Tonight we welcomed future Welding, Collision, Pharmacy, Vet Science, HVAC, and Coding students at our Follow Your Arrow event. Incoming students signed their letter of commitment to West-MEC for the 26-27 school year. Thank you to the staff for creating such a special night. Thank you families for attending.

Congratulations to all of our students who were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society last night. Thank you to Mrs. Winzeler our NTHS advisor and all of the parents and guests that helped us to celebrate this achievement!

Congratulations to our Attendance Matters winners who had perfect attendance! Thank you for your professionalism.

Mr. Wethington’s Auto Tech juniors organized a Car Show tonight at Barro’s Pizza. Who will take home the trophy? Thank you to the car lovers that came out to support the fundraiser and our students!

Our Neri Ruiz earned 1st place in plumbing at the SkillsUSA State Competition. She is on to Nationals! Congratulations to our NEC team that placed 3rd in Team Works. Way to go NEC Construction!

Congratulations to our Collision students, Marcus, Peyton, Nic, and Ryan(not pictured) for placing in the top 3 for paint and body categories at SkillsUSA State Competition.

Many of our students competed in SkillsUSA State Contests today! We’re so proud of them for showing off the technical and professional skills they’ve learned at NEC.

Mr. Bernard’s Coding classes are down in Tucson for the FBLA State Leadership Conference and were awarded Platinum Chapter!

Our Electrical and HVAC students attended a hiring event today that was put on by the AZ Builders Alliance. This was an excellent opportunity to interview and connect with employers.
