Today our medical assisting students dissected sheep hearts. Allowing these students to physically see what books and papers are describing was an amazing learning opportunity. Many of our students want to go into surgery or to nursing school. Thinking about purposeful career plans, an activity like this allows a student to see if this is something they are truly passionate about and can drive next steps for students after West-MEC.
