On Friday October 21st, 2016, the TWBS team visited Kensington High School to help teach and facilitate lessons on marketing. Along with a presentation on the power of marketing, this session included an interactive component allowing for students to get hands on training with Piktochart, a web-based tool for poster creation.

This past week, two Kensington Business classes were visited by Wharton Students. On Tuesday, October 11th, Yin and Connie visited to teach the students about corporate sponsorship and how to contact companies. On Thursday, October 13th, Victoria and Connie visited to teach the students about marketing and the marketing mix. Welcome to Kengsington High School DECA community!
We are a small high school located in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Our main goal is to foster innovation and business expertise in our students.
Despite being 100% socioeconomically disadvantaged, our students achieve tremendous success on the national stage at the annual DECA business conference. However, to make it to DECA 2016 and beyond, we need to overcome several resource barriers. We hope to do so by spreading awareness beyond our community.

Humans of Kensington Post 7:
"After high school, I plan to pursue psychology at either Arcadia or West Chester University (hopefully). My dream goal is to have a job/career that I love and feel a lot of passion for. I want something that not only expands me as a person but gives me the ability to do the same for others.
I've always enjoyed advising/guiding others. Whether it be in dealing with difficult situations or working towards them being the best they can be. Also I tend to observe people. Their body language, behavior, way of speaking, etc. I like to understand different ways of thinking and motivations.
Specifically with psychology, I can't say Kensington has helped out much, since the focus is business. But, I have gained a lot of experiences such as giving a speech at the School District, meeting all kinds of people with all types of backgrounds, and internships. Being here has helped me grow and explore new things I hadn't known about myself previously."

Humans of Kensington Post 6:
"My plans for after Kensington is to go to Kaplan University here in Philadelphia to receive a Dental Assistant Diploma. My dream goal is to become an oral surgeon assistant. What inspired me to want to become a oral surgeon assistant is the constant human interaction and the satisfaction with helping someone. Also I have always been passionate about keeping a healthy smile. I plan to achieve this by completing a 1 year dental assisting program and also 2 years to get an associate degree. Kensington has helped me in a way with easy contact to administrators at Kaplan University, and many teachers support to help my achieve me goals."

Humans of Kensington Post 5:
“I auditioned for The Voice once. I traveled to New York for a weekend last January and was in a big group. It almost how they show it on TV, but not exactly. This audition was before you even get on the TV show. They separated us into tiny groups and everyone was really supportive of everybody, even though we're all sort of competing against each other. Everybody was like, ‘Hey! You’re gonna do great!’ I didn’t get through; nobody in my group did. It was a really fun experience, but I was a little sad that nobody in my group got through.”

Humans of Kensington Post 4:
"I try to balance my time as best as I can because aside from football and aside from schoolwork, I also have a part time job. I work at a law firm. They picked me up over the summer. I was an intern there. So, their environment, since they put me with the IT department, it was really different. I was not expecting to be the IT department to be as it was. There’s no way to describe it. Every other office experience I’ve had as an intern it’s like professional, to the point, you be here at this time, but the IT department was very lenient, and, on top of that, they were hilarious. These guys always crack jokes, and that was probably the best part."
