Tip Tuesday 📚✨ (Grades 3–5)
Try Stop & Jot to boost reading comprehension!
After each paragraph: ✅ pause ✅ summarize in 3–5 words ✅ write a quick question/connection.
By the end, students can retell the whole text with confidence!

Math tip: Say it, Write it, Explain it!
When students talk through their thinking, mistakes decrease and confidence increases.

Some of my favorite tutoring moments aren’t about getting the answer right, they’re about what happens after.

Today, one of my students was so excited to help a younger student with her reading comprehension. She gently reminded her to slow down, reread the question, and really think before answering.

Later, another student learned how to solve a math problem and immediately started teaching her sister how to do it, step by step.

Watching them turn into leaders, coaching, encouraging, and sharing what they’ve learned reminds me exactly why I love this work. 💛📚

This Thanksgiving, I am especially thankful for my students and their families. 🧡

Even though we’re off from school for a few days, there are so many simple ways to keep kids learning at home:
📚 Read together for 15–20 minutes a day
➕ Use real-life math while cooking or shopping
✍🏽 Write about gratitude—a note, card, or list of things they’re thankful for

Little moments add up. Thank you for all you do to support your child’s education.

Watching students grow is truly the best part of what I do. 🌱✨
Today we focused on reading with confidence and really understanding the story, not just saying the words.
We practiced slowing down, visualizing what we read, and talking through ideas so the meaning becomes clear.

And let me tell you her confidence is starting to shine. 📖💡

📚 Reading Tip!
One simple way to help your child become a stronger reader is to use the Pause & Picture method.

After your child finishes a paragraph or page, pause and ask:
👉 “What did you see in your mind while reading this?”
Have them describe the scene, characters, or action in their own words.

This helps:
✅ Improve comprehension
✅ Strengthen memory
✅ Boost reading confidence
